Vasil Vasilev – Vaso was born, 1964 in Bulgaria. Graduated from St.St. Cyril and Methodius ”- Veliko Tarnovo, majoring in painting and aesthetics in 1994 in the class of Prof. Alexander Terziev. He has 15 solo exhibitions and numerous exhibitions in national and collective exhibitions in Sofia, Plovdiv, Edirne, Nessebar, Zheravna, Sliven, and others. Works in the field of modernism and drawing. He won the Special Jury Prize in the National Kukerland Competition in 2011 and Second place in the national photo competition Our Other Bulgaria 2013.

His works are in private collections in Bulgaria, Russia, the USA, Spain, Norway, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and France. He works and lives in Bulgaria.

Vaso’s paintings cover a special area between abstraction and figurativeness. They are rich in colour and hidden meaning. He loves the shapes, colours and textures that hint at the meaning and allow the eyes to dance throughout the picture. And thoughts to flow freely.
