Júlia Végh /HU

Júlia Végh is a Hungarian artist who studied at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (MKE) and abroad in Spain at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).

Julia’s understanding of the world and her own self, both as self-sufficient existence and her relations, feel in a multi-layered visual experience of her artwork. It intensifies individual tragedies and social encounters. Her paintings reevaluate everyday situations and develop them into meaningful moments that are worth documenting.

She won several art prizes such as “The Universal Sea – Pure or Plastic?” – initiated by the Institute for Art and Innovation (Berlin, Germany); the ESSL Art Award CEE (2015) and the Art Prize of the Barcsay Jenő Foundation of Fine Art (2014).
